Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly committed employees for the position of Laboratory Technician - LEP (Fixed Term) to join the Project Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Medical Doctor, you will be responsible for providing and ensuring the optimal health of all project employees, contractors, and their dependents.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting pathological laboratory procedures as required by the clinic staff and occupational health clinics, specimen collection, operation, and maintenance of various laboratory equipment.
• Participating in external quality assessment programs and involvement in internal quality control assurance.
• Managing Laboratory supplies and commodities, controlling laboratory data, documents, and records.
• Preparation of Laboratory reagents.
• Accountable for the completion of all tasks identified in the Management Operating System (MOS) to the specified quality and timelines as assigned to this role.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness.
• Promote and comply with the company's Occupational Health & Safety Policy.
• Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.
• Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
• Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure the achievement of these targets.
• Ensure the development and maintenance of up to date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Diploma in Biomedical Sciences.
• Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduate experience.
• Registered Health Professions Council.
• High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
