Background

A named security and logistics company (in incorporation) is seeking services of a LEGAL ASSISTANT (GRADUATE)

The company is being newly established security and logistics company with a vision to become a leading provider of cargo security escort, transport risk management and integrated logistics support services across Zambia and the Southern African region.

The company is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and ambitious Law Graduate who is eager to be part of building a company from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the establishment of legal systems, corporate governance structures and operational frameworks while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Directors, the Legal Assistant will support the establishment and growth of the Company's legal and governance function. The successful candidate will assist with company registration matters, legal compliance, contract administration, corporate governance, policy development and the implementation of systems required to support a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing the Company's legal and corporate governance framework.
  • Draft, review and maintain contracts, agreements, policies and legal documentation.
  • Support company secretarial functions and statutory compliance.
  • Assist with regulatory registrations, licensing and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs and opinions.
  • Develop and maintain contract and legal records management systems.
  • Assist in developing company policies, procedures and governance documents.
  • Liaise with regulators, external legal practitioners and strategic partners.
  • Support the Directors in legal, commercial and corporate matters.
  • Perform other duties required to support the successful establishment and growth of the Company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised university.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
