Mechanic

Location: Solwezi

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of light vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults.
  • Service and repair light vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance according to service schedules.
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before failures occur.
  • Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other components.
  • Perform routine inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Attend to breakdowns and carry out field repairs when required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Trade Certificate in Motor Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or a related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a mechanic.
  • Experience working on construction or mining equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose faults using both manual and electronic diagnostic methods.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
