Our client in Lusaka Zambia is looking for a Procurement Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the Hospitality Services industry.
The Procurement Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the company’s supply chain, including sourcing and purchasing high-quality goods and services, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing inventory processes. This role requires attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to procurement management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement and Purchase Orders: Select reliable vendors, create and approve purchase orders, and confirm orders with suppliers.
- Receiving and Inspection: Accept deliveries, verify quality and quantity against purchase orders, and document any discrepancies.
- Stock Entry and Storage: Update inventory records, label and barcode items, and store goods efficiently.
- Inventory Monitoring and Control: Maintain optimal stock levels, implement cost-saving strategies, and minimize excess inventory.
- Order Fulfillment and Distribution: Manage stock transfers, oversee packing and shipping, and ensure timely delivery to camp locations.
- Inventory Audits and Cycle Counts: Conduct regular inventory checks, reconcile stock discrepancies, and improve accuracy.
- Analysis and Optimization: Track performance metrics, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through data-driven decision-making.
