EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Industrial Training Centre (ITC) is a Public Training Institution under the Ministry of Technology and Science. ITC would like to recruit a Procurement Specialist to fill in the vacant position under its establishment.
POSITION: PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (1)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate or its equivalent
- Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and/or
- CIPS Professional Qualification-Diploma- MCIPS
- ZIPS Practicing License
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience in Public Procurement Entity
- Membership to Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply a must
- Computer literate in microsoft office packages a must and knowledge of EGP
- Driving license is an added advantage

To coordinate and manage procurement functions and activities to ensure timely availability of goods and services required for efficient and effective operations of ITC. The job holder will be responsible for the following:-
- Plans, organises and coordinates all procurement activities for ITC such as Evaluation meeting, Procurement Committee meetings and recommend for approval of purchase requisitions.
- Prepare solicitation documents to potential vendors/suppliers to facilitate selection of suitable suppliers of goods and services
- Prepare purchase orders for sanctioning by management after requisitions have been authorised and promptly dispatch approved orders to concerned suppliers.
- Evaluation of proposals/bids/quotations received and making suitable recommendations to management
- Provides feedback to end users on requested procurements.
- Formulates and implements procurement policies, procedures and best practises.
- Guide management on all procurement issues and providing monthly feedback to management on all procurements undertaken
- Maintain an up-to-date register of suppliers in order to establish a reliable supplier database. Conduct periodically, the registration of suppliers in order to establish a reliable database
- Preparation of departmental reports including monthly reports that reflect the status of purchase requisitions and orders for the attention of management.
