JOB ADVERT – PRODUCTION INTERN X (02)
Kamimbi Aqua Feed Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Production Intern. The role reports to the Production Manager and will be based in Siavonga, Zambia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Record production data accurately for traceability and performance tracking.
- Communicate effectively with production, quality control, and fish farm teams.
- Attend weekly team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
- Conduct quality tests on finished feed (e.g., pellet durability, nutrient content, floatability).
- Analyse feed samples for contaminants and compliance with aquaculture standards.
- Work with the fish farm to collect feedback on feed performance (FCR, growth rates).
- Participate in trials to reduce fishmeal content by incorporating alternative proteins (e.g., algal feeds, plant-based proteins).
- Assist in documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control.
- Complete all assigned training and deliverables on time.
QUALIFICATION AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Full Grade Twelve School Certificate (GCE).
- Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Agribusiness, Aquaculture, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of production processes and quality control.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
- Interest in aqua feed production and tilapia farming.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems and recommend effective solutions to customers.
- Agility digital proficiency and uncompromising ethics.
