Responsibilities or duties
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the company’s commercial and growth objectives
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and revenue targets
- Manage and grow distributor, wholesale, and key account relationships
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to inform pricing and promotions
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage the sales team, including sales representatives and merchandisers
- Ensure effective route-to-market execution and territory coverage
- Drive availability, visibility, and brand execution standards in the trade
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
- Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure demand fulfillment
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable liquor regulations
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience needed
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ sales experience in FMCG, preferably in breweries, beverages, or alcohol categories
- Proven experience managing distributors and key accounts
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience with sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
