Purpose of the Role
To ensure accurate inventory management and minimize operational losses by monitoring stock movements, analyzing and resolving variances, enforcing inventory control procedures, and improving supply chain processes. The role acts as a bridge between finance and operations, using data, audits, and system controls to identify inefficiencies, prevent losses such as breakages or expiries, and support cost control, ultimately helping the business operate more efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile physical and system inventory, including finished goods, empties, batches, and GIT.
- Conduct daily/monthly stock counts and investigate variances.
- Monitor stock movements, transfers, receipts, expiry dates, and FIFO compliance.
- Maintain strong warehouse controls and minimize losses, breakages, and expiries.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Maintain accurate warehouse documentation and stock records.
- Supervise warehouse loaders and ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Work with Finance, Production, Operations, and Supply Chain to improve processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma in Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in warehouse/stock or inventory management.
- Manufacturing/FMCG or food and beverage experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP/ERP and accounting systems.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- High integrity, good communication, and ability to work independently and supervise staff.
