Responsibilities or duties

Job Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the Country Supply Chain Management Mission Team in tasks relating to execution of Demand and Supply Plans, and logistical product flows that will enable the Bayer to meet farmer needs in the Region for Crop Protection, Glyphosate & Row Crop solutions.

Ensure Supply by executing end-to-end replenishment plans & inventory management that will ensure optimal inventory at DC level, at Customers and in channel (for direct shipments) on time in full in and aligned with the respective Sales/Supply plan strategy and production campaigns.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

Supply Planning Responsibilities

  • Execute the Supply Plan based on Sales Forecast through alignment and coordination with the Country Group Supply Chain Operations Planner on the required commitments/deliverables to ensure secure supply.
  • Weekly reporting to relevant stakeholders on Product Availability & Arrival Timelines.
  • Facilitating product availability through stocks Replenishment and execution of Intercompany purchases/Stock Transfer orders for Finished Goods.
  • Responsible for all product flows of Stock Transfer orders for Finished Goods & Co-ordination of Finished Goods movement between plant to DC’s.
  • Execute supply plan for spot orders and constrained supply situations with relevant PS stakeholders and attend Demand Alignment forums.
  • Follow up with TRIA / Order Management Teams and Production Site Teams in EMEA (for CP) to process Sales Orders.
  • Report on relevant Supply Chain KPI’s and coordinate performance improvement.
  • Coordinate returns and buy-backs for CP and RC from DCs to supplying plants.
  • Preparation of inputs/outputs for Sales & Operational Executional Planning (S&OE) meetings and provide relevant feedback to stakeholders
  • Execute all supply planning duties in line with the guiding SOPs/Procedures in place.
  • Complaint Management via appropriate Bayer Quality Management System and Stakeholders.
  • Stock count inputs – Prepare Count sheets for RC and CP, participate in stock counts and execute the resulting Supply Chain stock postings.
  • Support execution of Slow Mover mitigation initiatives & coordinate product write-offs in line with inventory SOPs.
  • CP Toller contract and service management for in-country manufacturing activities including supply/procurement of manufacturing materials such a labels and packaging materials, and contract performance management.
  • Relationship management with tolling / packaging vendors and authorities via execution and follow up of purchase order and stock transfers, payment follow up and local contact management etc.
  • Creation and maintenance of material Master Data and performance management of the material master data processes.
  • Coordinate artwork & label management process with Marketing, Regulatory & Production Sites to ensure correctness, compliance & timely production of products.
  • Support implementation of Supply Chain projects.
  • Perform any other duties as cocreated and assigned by SSA and Country Supply Chain Mission team.

Import & Export Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all cross-border movements of commercial goods to Customers & DC’s.
  • Co-ordinate all aspects of air/ocean/road consignments, abiding by import & export customs regulations and international laws.
  • Process import/export permits and documents for CP, Row Crop commercial seeds and communicate with brokers on customs processing, clearance and onward forwarding of consignments to customers & desired DCs.
  • Support & coordinate order fulfillment and transportation cycle in arranging for PVOC where required, ensure timely loading, maintain scheduled departures and track goods from loading point through to delivery to the desired DCs & customers.
  • Liaise with relevant Order Management Teams on execution of direct export orders including documentation ensure smooth shipment of products from supplying plants to destination countries.
  • Provide frequent & routine updates/tracking status to Supply Chain & Customer Service Teams on import/export orders/consignments in transit.
  • Keep abreast with import & export regulations and developments and report on any new changes.
  • Liaise with government regulatory bodies to ensure import & export documentations are promptly processed including timely dispatch to relevant stakeholders (both internal & external).
  • Process Payments for government agencies, 3rd party service providers and customs Brokers liaising with Accounts Payable Team to ensure timely payment within the stipulated timelines.
  • Ensure imports & exports are done as per the relevant Standard Operating Procedures and maintain accurate Documentation (electronic and Hard copy), Goods Inspection, collection and customers receipts to support ISO, internal and other external audits.
  • Update respective internal databases in SAP for imports & exports goods receipt, Logistics GRVs processing & HS codes
  • Liaise with Imports & Export Governance on: performance management of Forwarders, Clearing Agents & Inspection Agents, HS code & Tariff authenticity, new trade lanes set-up and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead risk management initiatives on route optimization & lead time reduction in our trade lanes.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders for freight forwarding quotations ensuring total transparency in selection of the most efficient and cost-effective transporter/service provider for imports and exports.
  • Maintain and provide relevant reports necessary to steer the business such Monthly cost analysis for sea & airfreight consignments, Shipping & arrival status of import/export consignments, bi-weekly IDF & import permits status, monthly Import returns to name a few.
  • Preparation & provision of inputs/outputs for Sales & Operational Executional Planning (S&OE) meetings and provide relevant feedback to stakeholders.
  • Complaint Management and Raising claims with our Insurance or relevant persons if consignments are damaged, short shipped or lost.
  • Support implementation of Supply Chain projects.
  • Perform any other duties as cocreated and assigned by SSA and Country Supply Chain Mission team.

Qualifications or requirements 

Required Qualification:

  • Degree in Supply chain management or a Business Degree
  • 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management: Demand and Supply Planning / International Supplies Management / Warehousing & Distribution / Logistics Management.
  • Handling the Seed and Agri-input chemicals is advantage.
