TENDER FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKS OF ABLUTION BLOCK, WASTE MANAGEMENT AREA (INCINERATOR, ASH PIT, PLACENTA PIT) AND PERMANENT HANDWASHING FACILITY AT NAKAMBALA RURAL HEALTH CARE FACILITY IN MAZABUKA DISTRICT, SOUTHERN PROVINCE OF ZAMBIA 

WaterAid Zambia is an international Non-Governmental Organization dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and improved hygiene practices to the marginalised communities around the globe.  WaterAid Zambia currently operates in three (03) provinces, Lusaka, Southern, and Western Province. 

WaterAid Zambia is now inviting sealed bids from eligible Contractors with EIZ and all relevant construction qualification (NCC…ERB…etc..), to undertake the construction of an Ablution Block, Waste Management area (Incinerator, Ash pit and Placenta pit) and Permanent Handwash Facility in Mazabuka District at the advertised Lot in this Terms of Reference. 

Contractors are encouraged to visit and examine the site of works and its surroundings and obtain, at own risk and responsibility, all information necessary for preparing the bid and entering into contract for the works.  The site visit is critical and necessary for collection of information; all related costs shall be at the contractor’s own expense. A margin of preference shall apply following the Preferential Procurement Clause for bidders registered with the Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) in line with ZPPA circular No. 2 of 2011 as follows. 

(a) For a citizen influenced company, by four percent (4%) 

(b) For a citizen-empowered company, by eight percent (8%) 

(c) For a citizen- owned company, by twelve percent (12%) 

Bid documents can be obtained by emailing ZambiaBidsAndProcurement@wateraid.org with proof of bidding fee attached or from the WaterAid office at 21A Middleway, Kabulonga, Lusaka Zambia upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Five Hundred Kwacha (K500.00) for the bid document deposited to this Bank Detail: ACCOUNT NAME: WATERAID ZAMBIA, ACC NUMBER: 0428101500126, BANK NAME: Zambia National Commercial Plc, SWIFT Code: ZNCOZMLUXXX, Local Clearing Code: 010001, BRANCH: CAIRO ROAD.  Bidders must obtain an official receipt for their deposit from WaterAid Offices or through email. The official receipt should be part of the bid document submitted. 

Sealed bids, appropriately bound, bold labeled must be deposited in the Tender Box situated at WaterAid office at 21A Middleway, Kabulonga, Lusaka Zambia on or before Thursday (19th March 2026) at 12:00 hours. Completed Bids should also be submitted via email at ZambiaBidsAndProcurement@wateraid.org. Note: Bids that do not make both forms of submission, physical and electronic, will be disqualified. The bids received will be opened thereafter at WaterAid Offices in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. LATE BIDS SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Bids must be submitted in accordance with the instructions to bidders contained in the bidding documents.
