About the Training Officer Roles
Reporting directly to the Training Manager, the Training Officers (Grade NCC 5) will play a key role in delivering quality education and practical training to students enrolled in building and road construction programs. Candidates will also contribute to research and consultancy projects that enhance the learning experience and support student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive teaching plans and schemes of work for assigned courses.
- Prepare lecture notes, handouts, and instructional materials to facilitate learning.
- Deliver engaging lectures and provide tutoring using effective teaching methodologies.
- Conduct practical training sessions on building and road construction sites.
- Set, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and class exercises.
- Prepare and invigilate end-of-course examinations.
- Participate in consultancy assignments related to your area of expertise.
- Address student complaints and offer academic guidance when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
- Compile student progress reports based on assessments and classroom performance.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
- Certificate in Teaching Methodology.
- Full membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- At least five years of relevant post-qualification experience in training, teaching, or the construction industry.

- Effective counselling and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in course planning and evaluation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
