Background
Prisoners’ Future Foundation (PFF) is a local non-governmental organization duly registered in the Republic of Zambia under the NGO Act of 2009. The organization was formed to look into the welfare of serving and former inmates, including citizens who, though un-convicted, have come in contact with the criminal justice system.

PFF is participating in the Democracy Strengthening in Zambia (DSZ) Project implemented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with financial support from European Union, France, Germany Cooperation, Irish Aid, Sweden, UKaid and USAID. PFF’s action is aimed at improving Persons in Lawful Custody(PLC) Participation in the Electoral Process, through increasing voter education, voter information and civic education in Correctional Facilities/Centres based in Western, Central, Eastern, and Muchinga Provinces, given the 12th August 2021 general elections. The action is running from 14th May, 2021 to 31st December. 2021.

In view of the above, PFF is looking for 15 qualified candidates to fill in the position of voter and civic education interns for a period of Six (6) months in the districts of the following provinces: Western Province; Sesheke and Kaoma (Nyangu), Eastern Province; Petauke, Nyimba, Lundazi, Chipata and Katete, Muchinga Province; Mpika, Chinsali and Isoka Copperbelt Province; Mufulira and Luanshya, Central Province; Kabwe, Serenje and Mkushi

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct weekly voter education, voter information and civic education using; focus group or face to face discussions, sensitization meetings (Public Address Systems), role plays, teaching sessions and theatre performances
• Hold breakfast meetings with business communities to Solicit support for further on- going radio programs on civic education
• Monitoring activities as related to the electoral process
• Mobilizing inmates in the targeted Correctional Facilities/Centres to attend voter education activities
• Reporting on activities implemented
• Ensuring inmates have access to voter education materials and information
• Mobilizing inmates in the targeted Correctional Centre to ensure they participate in elections

Qualifications
• Must be a Zambian citizen with a green National Registration Card (NRC) and Voter’s Card
• Must have a full Grade12 Certificate, and diploma or degree in civic education
• Must be a resident in the district you are applying to.
• Must not be associated with any political party.
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) as well as the dominant local language in the district being related to in 3 above
• Must be ready to work in Correctional Facilities/Centres.
• Past work experience in a similar capacity will be an added advantage.
• Should not be in employment and must be available to start work immediately.
