JOB DETAILS:
This position reports to the Production Manager. Successful candidate will be responsible for the below duties.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and direct all production activities on the assigned shift, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Lead, train, and motivate production line staff to achieve targets and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and that all production processes comply with GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor production output, efficiency, and resource allocation, making adjustments as needed.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues and equipment malfunctions on the production floor to minimize downtime.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Liaise with other departments, such as maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain, to address issues and streamline operations.
- Generate and analyze production data to create reports for senior management, supporting informed decision-making.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
- Degree in Production Management or Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the FMCG or beverage sector.
- Strong background in Production and root cause analysis
- Experience with FMCG software.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of Zambia’s FMCG regulations and HSE standards is an advantage.
