PIN’s office in Zambia is currently located in Mongu, Western province. PIN’s programme focusses on rural development using a multi-sectoral approach (agriculture, nutrition, food security, WASH, saving groups, maternal and child health, energy) and on good governance
1.2 JOB SUMMARY
Community Monitors will be trained in the initial stages of the project on CMAM and IYCF by PIN’s Nutrition Supervisors. They will then be responsible for conducting trainings of community health volunteers and later supervising and monitoring their work in the target communities. Through the direct supervision of community health volunteers, they will conduct end-user monitoring in use of RUTF, monitoring of household visits, screenings and referrals (conducted by community volunteers). They will be tasked with identifying any issues arising from the fieldwork of community volunteers, including barriers for any population groups to access the CMAM programme. Community Monitor will report directly to the Nutrition Supervisor in his/her target district. .

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1. Conducting trainings of community volunteers on CMAM and IYCF (screening, referrals, follow-up on SAM treatment cases, etc.)
2. Training members of the community in family MUAC (based on developments around COVID-19)
3. End-user monitoring in use of RUTF. Monitoring of household visits, screenings and referrals conducted by community volunteers
4. Monitoring the fieldwork of community volunteers including correct filling of project monitoring sheets and their correct and timely submission
5. Monitoring any barriers, including social and safeguarding issues with a strong gender component, ensuring access to IMAM and IYCF services for women, girls and other vulnerable groups
6. Organizing and facilitating monthly reporting community volunteer meetings and submitting resulting reports to Nutrition Supervisors
7. Data collection for SQUEAC survey
8. Community Feedback Response Mechanism promotion in the target communities
9. Any other task as signed by the line manager

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
• Certificate in secondary school education or better
• Certification in nutrition or public health an added advantage
Skills & experience
• Experience in primary health care and maternal health (experience with CMAM and IYCF programme an advantage)
• Experience in taking anthropometric measurements
• Fluent in Silozi and being able to communicate in English
• Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Good Community Engagement skills
• Ability to observe and to provide feedback on the activities
• Commitment to and understanding of PIN’s aims, values and principles
• High ethical standard and ability to keep confidentiality
• Good report-writing skills
• Ability to use MS Office
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
• Ability to assess problems and recommend solutions
2. Contractual Terms
• Duration: 8 months (Community Monitors will be remunerated for each field trip for up to 12 trips maximum per month)
• Salary: Contract will be in a form of financial allowance for monitoring services
