Job Purpose:
To construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. Carpenters are involved in many phases of construction, from structural framing to fine finishing work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rough Carpentry: Frame structures, build wooden concrete forms, install beams, joists, rafters, and subflooring.
  • Finish Carpentry: Install trim, molding, stairs, cabinets, doors, window frames, and other fixtures, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans.
  • Measure, mark, and arrange materials according to plans.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines.
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter (minimum 3-5 years for a full-site role).
  • Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools and measurement tools (power saws, drills, hammers, levels, etc.).
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of math and numbers.
  • Good physical condition, with endurance and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
