Chuma Frontiers is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced, and results-oriented Accountant to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Manage the company's general ledger and accounting transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Process payroll and ensure statutory deductions are correctly calculated and remitted.
  • Prepare and submit monthly statutory returns for NAPSA, PAYE, and NHIMA, and ensure timely submission for payment in compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, tax regulations, and other applicable financial laws.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Develop and implement sound financial controls and accounting procedures.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Full professional qualification such as ZICA Licentiate, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent accounting qualification recognized in Zambia.
  • Current membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with a valid practicing status where applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Zambian tax laws, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in Mibcrosoft Excel and accounting software such as Sage Pastel, QuickBooks, Tally, or similar ERP systems.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' proven experience as an Accountant in a reputable company or organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing financial statements, budgeting, tax compliance, payroll administration, statutory returns, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment will be an added advantage.
