Hollard Life Assurance Zambia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Administration team.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head – Finance & Administration, the Accountant will assist in the efficient management of Finance and Administration operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post all transactions into the accounting system and manage daily receipting and banking.
  • Process and prepare payments to suppliers and for claims.
  • Monitor bank account balances and ensure sufficient liquidity.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, journals, and expense variance commentary.
  • Manage debtors, maintain the fixed asset register, and process payroll.
  • Ensure timely statutory payments (ZRA, NAPSA, PIA, etc.).
  • Prepare investment income accounts and reconcile reinsurance payables.
  • Coordinate annual audits and actuarial valuations.
  • Support procurement, office maintenance, and license renewals.

Required Qualifications

  • Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or Degree in Accounting.
  • Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O’ Levels including English and Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of basic insurance principles is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
