JOB DETAILS:
A reputable Insurance Broking company is looking for a qualified Accountant with experience in the Insurance Industry (preferably an Insurance Broking Company). The Accountant will Report to the Chief Executive Officer. He/She will have the following duties:
MAJOR DUTIES
- Prompt Premium remittance to Insurance companies
- Payroll management
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual PIA Returns
- Prepare, submit &make payments of all statutory returns such as NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE etc.
- Prepare corporation tax computation, both provisional and final and make payments
- Prepare and submit monthly Insurance Premium Levy on the ZRA portal
- General Ledger Management
- Insurer and clients Reconciliations
- Perform monthly or quarterly bank reconciliations
- Prepare periodic cash flows and monitor accounts payables and receivables
- Conduct periodic Fixed Assets verification
- Coordinating weekly credit control meetings
- Maintenance and review of all company cash books
- Any other duties that may be assigned to you
Qualifications:
- A Degree in Accountancy and/or ACCA, CIMA, ZICA qualification
- Member of ZICA
- An MBA,MA, MSc will be an added advantage
- The applicant should have at least 6 years’ experience, 3 of which must be at middle management level in an Insurance company or Insurance Broking Company
- Knowledge of Pastel Accounting software is a must
- Knowledge of any other accounting software is advantageous
