Job Summary
Business Momentum Advisory Services Limited is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Accountant for a client in the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounting records, financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, cost controls, and general accounting operations within a factory environment.
The ideal candidate must be a resident of Mazabuka and should have proven accounting experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for:
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
- Managing day-to-day accounting transactions and ensuring proper documentation.
- Preparing bank reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, customer reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Supporting cost accounting activities, including production costs, stock movement, and inventory-related accounting.
- Monitoring factory expenses and assisting management with cost-control measures.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, including tax, NAPSA, NHIMA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Supporting payroll-related accounting where required.
- Maintaining accurate records of assets, liabilities, income, and expenditure.
- Assisting with audits and providing required financial documentation.
- Advising management on financial performance, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
- Ensuring that all accounting practices are aligned with company policies, financial controls, and applicable accounting standards.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must possess full ACCA, ZICA qualification, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Must have previous experience working in a manufacturing, factory, or production environment.
- Must be a resident of Mazabuka or currently based within Mazabuka.
- Must have strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, and internal controls.
- Experience in stock accounting, cost accounting, or inventory control will be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
