The Zambia Institute of Business Studies and Industrial Practice (ZIBSIP) College in Kitwe is looking to hire an Accountant.

Responsibilities or duties

  • To effectively check the payments and reconcile deposit schedules with receipts
  • Monitoring the implementation of the budget effectively to ensure compliance with the budgetary provisions.
  • Undertake the maintenance of an up-to-date financial management system to facilitate easy and quick retrieval and storage of financial data.
  • Undertake timely preparation of reports and financial statements to facilitate decision-making and auditing.
  • Maintains books of accounts accurately to ensure the timely provision of accounting information to end users.
  • Reconcile deposit schedules with receipts and carry out bank reconciliations.
  • In liaison with the Human Resource Department, update payroll for new employees and those existing.
  • Undertake monthly inputs into the payroll for existing staff.
  • Produce payroll deduction and reconciliation schedules, payment schedules, monthly salaries, and statutory deductions such as NAPSA, PAYE, etc.
  • Prepare reconciled payroll year-end reports.
  • Ensure that all payroll inputs are properly reconciled monthly and attend to all payroll queries.
  • Accountable for the confidential maintenance and security of all staff payroll records and the system.
  • To perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Grade 12 school certificate
  • Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Experience with accounting software is an added advantage.

Experience needed

At least three (3) years of work experience.

Any other provided details (e.g., benefits, work environment, team info, or additional notes)

Must be registered with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
