JOB DETAILS:

• To design, build, and maintain client-facing and server-side components of the agency’s core business systems, ensuring secure, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions.
• Grade and Reporting Line:
  • Salary Grade: P4
  • Reports to: Manager, Digital Transformation
• Job Description:
  • Systems Development: Implement front-end and back-end modules using modern frameworks. Develop secure, scalable services and integrations (APIs).
  • Systems Testing: Write and maintain automated tests; participate in code reviews and debugging following secure coding guidelines.
  • Systems Documentation: Produce and maintain technical documentation, including API references and database schemas.
  • Systems Upgrade and Optimization: Refactor code for performance and security; optimize systems and utilize CI/CD pipelines for deployment.
  • Data Management & Persistence: Design and maintain databases; implement data integration, migration, and protection processes.
  • Collaboration & Support: Engage in agile development, mentor junior developers, and work with infrastructure/DevOps teams for deployment.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other related duties as requested by the supervisor.
• Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Full Grade 12 certificate (with at least 5 credits including English). A Degree in Computer Sciences/Software Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years in professional full-stack software development.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in at least one back-end (e.g., C#, Java, Python) and one front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue.js).
  • Experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with API design, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of distributed systems (microservices) and scalable design patterns.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of secure coding practices, performance optimization, and web accessibility standards.
• Desirable Skills: UI/UX design proficiency and experience with Kubernetes.
