Role Overview:

Spectrum Credit is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth, ensure portfolio quality, and maintain operational consistency across assigned branches. The role focuses on executing company strategy, coaching branch leadership, and removing operational barriers that impact performance. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership effectiveness with a commitment to delivering sustainable business growth and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth — Drive achievement of regional disbursement and portfolio expansion targets.
  • Strategy Execution — Translate national sales strategies into actionable branch-level plans.
  • Market Opportunities — Identify and pursue growth opportunities within assigned regions.
  • Performance Monitoring — Track branch productivity, conversion rates, and portfolio quality.
  • Leadership Development — Recruit, coach, and mentor Branch Coordinators and emerging leaders.
  • Performance Reviews — Conduct regular evaluations and coaching sessions to build capability.
  • Accountability — Enforce performance discipline and ensure delivery against KPIs.
  • Operational Excellence — Standardize branch operations, improve turnaround times, and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Customer Service — Ensure service excellence across all branches.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with Credit, Finance, HR, and Collections to support smooth operations.
  • Culture & Values — Foster teamwork, engagement, and a values-driven high-performance culture.
  • Compliance — Uphold company policies, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness.
  • Risk Management — Identify, escalate, and address risks or control weaknesses.
  • Succession Planning — Strengthen leadership pipelines and promote continuous improvement.
  • Innovation — Encourage problem-solving, accountability, and operational innovation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (ZAQA-certified).
  • MBA or a relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in financial services or microfinance
  • Proven experience in a leadership or senior management role
  • Strong background in lending, portfolio management, or operations
  • Experience managing multi-branch or regional operations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and performance
