Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (WWSC) is a Commercial Water and Sanitation Utility Company engaged in the business of providing water supply and sanitation services to its customers in the Urban, Peri- Urban and Rural areas of Western Province of Zambia. In a bid to enhance service delivery and customer service management, Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited being an equal opportunities employer, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position Assistant Public Relations Officer.
ASSISTANT PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER (01)
JOB PURPOSE:
To plan, implement and monitor the public relations programs and activities of the Company. To disseminate news and information on the WWSSC mission, vision, values and activities using a variety of platforms in order to promote image of the Company and public awareness, education goodwill, understanding and confidence in the company by the stakeholders and the public.
ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Full Grade 12 certificate or the Equivalent
- Minimum of a Diploma in Journalism/Public Relations or the equivalent.
- Relevant minimum experience of three years
- Must be outgoing and fluent in English.
- Pleasant personality
AGE PROFILE
Should be between 20 to 35 years.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft speeches and press statements for the Public Relations Officer to media/public
- Disseminate approved company information professionally and accurately to the public.
- Act as point of information, contact or interface for WWSSC and answers queries from the media and the general public on the services and activities of the company.
- Plan and conduct tour programs for stakeholder visits.
- Prepare and participate in public relations events through and in liaison with line Managers
- Develop and implement public relations programs for TV, Radio, Fair exhibitions and newspapers to market the company and sensitize customers and the general public on the services and activities of WWSSC.
- Produce quarterly Company newsletter to ensure provision of up to date and useful information to the public and members of staff.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and meet set targets.
- Ability to compile accurate reports.
- Must be physically fit and willing to work in the field across all areas of the district.
- Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

- Numerate
- Detail-oriented and accurate
- Good communicator
- Able to meet deadlines and targets
- Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
