Our Client Kalungwishi Estates Limited, based in Kasama, is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated individuals to join our operations team in the following positions:

BOILER OPERATOR

Job Purpose:

The Boiler Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial boilers and steam generation systems to ensure uninterrupted and efficient sugar production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor boilers, steam systems, and associated equipment.
  • Ensure proper pressure, temperature, and water levels are maintained.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify operational abnormalities.
  • Maintain boiler logs, operational records, and safety checklists.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of boiler systems.
  • Respond promptly to boiler alarms and emergency shutdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with boiler safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams during repairs and servicing.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and optimize boiler efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the boiler house.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Boiler Operator Certificate or relevant technical qualification.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience operating industrial boilers in manufacturing or processing plants.
  • Knowledge of steam systems and boiler safety procedures.
  • Experience in sugar processing or agro-processing industries will be an added advantage.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of boiler operations and safety standards.
  • Ability to detect and respond to operational faults.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work shifts and extended hours when necessary.
