About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Boiler Operator to operate and monitor boiler systems efficiently, ensuring a reliable steam supply for production operations while maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate boilers in accordance with approved operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily boiler logbooks and operating records.
- Monitor coal consumption and ensure efficient fuel usage.
- Inspect boiler equipment and report defects promptly.
- Monitor water treatment systems, chemicals, and salt levels.
- Remove boiler ash safely and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with Production regarding steam demand requirements.
- Follow shift handover and takeover procedures.
- Support maintenance activities as directed by supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health and Environment requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Boiler Attendant Certificate preferred.
- Boiler Operator Certificate will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to identify and respond to operational issues promptly.
