Job Summary

Keda Zambia Ceramics is seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining metal structures, equipment, and systems used in ceramic tile production. This includes critical equipment such as kilns, dryers, pipelines, tanks, and pressure vessels to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble metal components based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Install, maintain, and repair equipment, including:
    • Kilns and dryers
    • Slurry tanks and spray dryers
    • Conveyors and material handling systems
    • Pressure vessels and pipelines
  • Perform welding, cutting, and grinding using appropriate techniques (Arc, MIG, TIG).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical schematics accurately.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or faults in equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support continuous operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and fabrication work.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Trade Certificate in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Boilermaker in a manufacturing or industrial environment (experience in ceramics is an added advantage).
  • Valid welding certifications (MIG, TIG, ARC).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of safety awareness
  • Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment
