POSITION : BREWING & UTILITIES ENGINEER

CONTRACT : PERMANENT

LOCATION : LUSAKA

REPORTS TO : ENEGINEERING MANAGER

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Process Optimization

  • Provide technical support, analysis, and recommendations to production teams
  • Optimise plant availability, output, utilities usage, and waste reduction
  • Support implementation of technical improvements and projects

2. Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Ensure integrity and optimal use of planned maintenance systems
  • Manage maintenance schedules and resolve system-related issues
  • Maintain asset care processes and system accuracy (CMMS)
  • Control maintenance costs and spare parts usage

3. Production Performance

  • Drive plant reliability, efficiency, and product quality
  • Monitor brewing system performance and key process indicators
  • Minimise wastage and improve operational efficiency

4. Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
  • Maintain high housekeeping and safe maintenance practices
  • Identify and address unsafe practices proactively

5. People Management & Leadership

  • Coach and mentor shift teams
  • Support employee development in asset care, PLC, and maintenance skills
  • Promote effective communication and a positive work environment

Minimum Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering
  • Registered Engineer (mandatory)
  • Diploma in Brewing (IBD) is an added advantage

Experience

  • 2-3 years in a Team Leader, Maintenance Planner, or Controller role
  • Experience in FMCG or brewing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with maintenance systems and brewing technologies.pdf
