About the Role
We are looking for a driven individual to lead our Copperbelt Office and grow our corporate and SME client portfolio. You will report to the Managing Director and be responsible for identifying, pursuing and closing new business opportunities on the Copperbelt and Northwestern province, nurturing existing client relationships and driving revenue growth. Responsible for business development, client relationship management, risk placement, team supervision, and ensuring full compliance with PIA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development plans that grow the firms insurance brokerage business.
- Lead and coordinate contract negotiations which includes but not restricted to policy terms and cost for successful sealing of the partnership and/or sale.
- Conduct thorough needs analysis and assessment for potential clients to understand their insurance requirements and provide tailored solutions
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including insurance carriers, industry associations and referral partners to expand our network and generate referrals
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate/SME clients in the Copperbelt region
- Prepare risk submissions and negotiate competitive terms with insurers
- Supervise and coach the Copperbelt broking team to meet production and retention targets
- Ensure all broking activities comply with PIA Act and company standards
- Support claims follow-up and resolve escalated client service issues
- Track and report on business development activities, pipeline progress and key performance indicators to senior management.
- Monitor industry developments and stay updated on market dynamics to identify and quality- new business opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
- Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, or related field
- 5+ years’ experience in insurance broking/underwriting, with 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Strong negotiation, client management, knowledge and understanding of insurance market dynamics, industry trends and regulatory requirements.
- Professional qualification ACII/AIIZ is an advantage
