Job Summary:
New Version Investments Limited is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead the company’s growth initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, increasing sales volumes, and expanding the brand’s presence both locally and regionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market share.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets for mealie meal products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, retailers, and institutional buyers.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to guide business strategy.
- Lead the negotiation and closing of business deals, contracts, and supply agreements.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior management.
- Develop pricing strategies in alignment with market trends and company profitability targets.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and other networking events.
- Ensure compliance with relevant food industry regulations and quality standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. An MBA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing—preferably in the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of the mealie meal industry, including supply chain dynamics, distribution networks, and customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business plans and successfully execute them.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Self-starter with strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
