Tough Team Investments Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality goods and services, managing supplier relationships and ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement in line with company policies and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and source reliable suppliers for goods and services required by the company and clients.
  • Obtain, compare and analyze quotations from multiple suppliers to ensure value for money and competitiveness.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, pricing trends, and procurement opportunities.
  • Prepare, process, and track purchase orders and other procurement documentation.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules and service agreements with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and follow up to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Track open purchase orders and resolve delays, shortages, or supply challenges proactively.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with internal teams and clients to ensure requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, reliability, and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier databases, quotations, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Support sourcing activities for client projects and internal operations.
  • Manage urgent and emergency procurement requests efficiently.
  • Resolve supplier and procurement-related queries promptly and professionally.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and continuous procurement process improvements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and procurement regulations.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for management review.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is an added advantage.
  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement requests simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Strong cost awareness and budgeting understanding.
  • High integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
