Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, field-based Capability Coach to join the Hungry Lion team in Zambia. In this role, you will serve as the primary Learning and Development resource for our stores and regional operations. The successful candidate will work closely with Regional Operations Managers to drive performance, facilitate impactful training, and ensure sustained behavior change. Key Responsibilities

  • Audits & Assessments: Perform monthly Store Certification Audits and conduct comprehensive gap assessments to identify operational or leadership deficiencies
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate Manager Train-the-Trainer (TTT) and New Country training sessions via virtual or in-person platforms
  • The 30-Day Rule: Execute mandatory 30-day follow-ups for all training interventions to ensure 100% behavior change and strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) adherence
  • Operations Support: Fulfill training requests from Regional Operations Managers within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • L&D Strategy Execution: Apply adult learning principles to adapt and deliver coaching interventions that suit diverse, fast-paced operational teams
  • Reporting: Diligently track all audit scores, pass/fail results, and developmental action plans in a Weekly Activity Log

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Adult Education, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Coaching, preferably within the Quick-Service Restaurant (QSR), retail, or hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions and a strong understanding of adult learning methodologies
  • Proven ability to ensure compliance with strict brand standards and food safety protocols
  • Commitment to maintaining a 100% follow-up completion rate on all training initiatives
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to provide accurate gap analysis and recommend targeted interventions
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Valid driver’s license with a willingness to travel extensively across the designated region

  • High energy and passion for coaching, mentoring, and driving sustained behavior change
  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, and ability to manage a field schedule independently
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced retail environment
