  • Maintain accurate survey records, field notes, digital data, and drawings for reporting, verification, and project handover.
  • Ensure all survey activities comply with applicable Zambian regulations, recognized international standards, and site health and safety requirements.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior surveyors, assistants, and chainmen during field operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized professional or regulatory body is an added advantage.
  • 5-10 years’ practical experience in civil construction surveying, preferably on large infrastructure, industrial plants, or power projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction‑stage surveying, setting‑out, and as‑built documentation.
  • Proficiency in the use of modern surveying equipment such as Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, RTK GPS/GNSS, digital levels, laser scanners (LiDAR if applicable).
  • Strong working knowledge of survey and drafting software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Bentley, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret complex engineering drawings and layouts for thermal power plants.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong numerical ability.
  • Physically fit and able to work long hours outdoors in hot, dusty, and rugged site conditions common in remote project locations.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, including PPE usage and safe work practices.
