Main Job Purpose
To ensure that transport and logistics practitioners, private operators and public entities are compliant with the ZCILT Act No. 04 of 2014, the Institute’s policies, applicable laws and regulatory standards.
The Compliance Officer will support the development, implementation and monitoring of compliance frameworks and risk management systems to safeguard the integrity and reputation of the Institute.
Key Responsibilities
- To implement and effectively enforce the ZCILT Act No. 04 of 2014 of the Laws of Zambia, Institute’s rules, procedures and policies.
- To sensitize operators and logistics and transport practitioners about the ZCILT Act and ensure adherence/compliance.
- Conduct compliance investigations/audits and assessments on transport, warehousing, locomotion and transport operators (public and private) and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage compliance registers and statutory reporting schedules.
- Coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities and external stakeholders where required.
- Plan and implement inspection activities and prepare periodic compliance and risk management reports for Management and Council.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Degree in Logistics & Transport, Advanced Diploma in Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, or Degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in compliance and risk management
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance principles
- Professional certification in Compliance, Criminal Prosecution, Risk Management or Governance will be an added advantage

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills
