JOB DETAILS:
Position: Control Room Operator
Number of Positions: 3
Location: Zambia
Job Summary:
The Control Room Operator will monitor and control plant operations from the control room, ensuring production processes operate safely, efficiently, and according to established operating parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor plant processes, equipment, alarms, and operating parameters.
- Operate control systems and adjust processes as required.
- Identify abnormal operating conditions and respond appropriately.
- Communicate operational issues to supervisors and maintenance teams.
- Maintain accurate production and operational records.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with field operators to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Monitor equipment performance and report faults promptly.
- Assist with start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
- Maintain effective communication during shift handovers.
Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in Process Control, Electrical/Instrumentation, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Previous control room or industrial plant experience is an advantage.
- Good understanding of industrial processes and control systems.
- Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts.
