Background
The Council of Law Reporting is a statutory body established under the Council of Law Reporting Act, Chapter 46 of the Laws of Zambia, mandated to prepare, publish and disseminate law reports and other legal publications, thereby promoting access to legal information and supporting the development of jurisprudence in Zambia. In pursuit of its strategic objectives and commitment to institutional excellence, the Council of Law Reporting invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced and innovative candidates for the following positions:Recruitment agency directory
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to report to the Chairperson of the Council of Law Reporting and will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee effectively the identification, editing, and production of Law Reports in order to facilitate future reference;
- Oversee periodically the publication of Law Reports in order to facilitate access;
- Oversee effectively the regulation of Law Reporting in order to facilitate compliance to standards;
- Undertake effectively the provision of secretariat services to the Council in order to facilitate the conduct of its business;
- Oversee effectively the provision of financial management services in order to facilitate implementation of programmes and ensure prudent use of resources;
- Oversee effectively human resource and administrative functions in order to promote efficient and effective operations of the Institution;
- Oversee effectively the provision of ICT services in order to facilitate service delivery;
- Oversee effectively the provision of planning, monitoring and evaluation functions in order to provide strategic direction to the Institution;
- Manage timely the development of work plans and the implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance;
- Manage effectively human, financial and other resources in order to facilitate attainment of set objectives.
Qualifications
MINIMUM VOCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Form V/Full Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) Credits or better including English.
- Bachelor of Laws degree.
- Advocate of the High Court of Zambia.
- Minimum of 10 years at the bar with 4 years’ experience at management level.
