Hillington International Group is a global mining and minerals company with active operations across multiple regions worldwide. We are expanding our presence in Zambia through our local subsidiary, Hillington Mining Zambia Limited, and are seeking a highly capable professional to lead our in-country operations.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Country Manager with a strong background in geology and extensive knowledge of the mining industry in Zambia. The ideal candidate will oversee local operations, lead exploration initiatives, manage government and community relations, and drive strategic growth for our Zambian subsidiary.

Key Responsibilities including but not Limited to:

• Lead and manage all operations of Hillington Mining Zambia Limited, ensuring compliance with local laws, mining regulations, and corporate standards.
• Oversee geological exploration projects, resource assessments, and technical reporting.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Ministry of Mines, ZDA, ZRA, ZEMA, Zambia Mining Cadastre, regulatory bodies, local communities, and key industry stakeholders.
• Identify new business opportunities, JV prospects, and expansion areas across Zambia's mining sector.
• Manage local teams, contractors, and service providers to ensure operational excellence.
• Prepare budgets, operational plans, and performance reports for regional and global management.
• Support permitting processes, environmental compliance, and license acquisition.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years' experience in mineral exploration or mining projects, ideally within Zambia or Southern Africa.
• Strong understanding of Zambia's mining laws, regulatory environment, and exploration procedures.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex field operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to travel frequently to project sites across the country.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Existing relationships within Zambia's mining sector.
• Experience with base metals (copper, zinc, Lead, Manganese, Gold & etc.) exploration or development.
• Previous experience in a Country Manager, Exploration Manager, or senior technical leadership role.
