About the Role
As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in designing and managing data systems, conducting analysis, and supporting field monitoring. You’ll work closely with program teams, field staff, and partners to ensure accurate, reliable, and meaningful data is used to guide COMACO’s mission of transforming smallholder farming and reducing poaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage database management systems and organizational dashboards.
- Support the design and implementation of monitoring & evaluation activities.
- Conduct data analysis, mapping, and GIS reporting.
- Manage survey data and ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with donor standards.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly fact sheets, donor reports, and success stories.
- Provide technical support and training to field staff and partners on data collection and M&E systems.
- Conduct field monitoring visits and data verification.
- Transition field data collection to digital systems and maintain secure central databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Agricultural Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Development Studies, or related field.
- Postgraduate diploma or Master’s degree in M&E, Data Science, GIS, or Data Analytics is an advantage.
- Strong skills in data management systems (SQL, ODK, Kobo Toolbox), analysis tools (SPSS, STATA, R, Python, Power BI), and GIS mapping (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- At least 4 years’ experience in data analysis, M&E, or research within NGOs, donor-funded projects, or development organizations.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with willingness to travel regularly to field sites.
