Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Data RAP Officer – LEP (Fixed Term) to join the Mineral Resources Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Responsibilities or duties

Reporting to the Senior Community Relations Officer – LEP, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate collection, management, analysis, and reporting of data related to the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collect, verify, maintain, and update Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) databases and records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Manage beneficiary records, compensation databases, grievance logs, and relocation tracking systems.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports on RAP implementation progress, compensation, livelihood restoration, and resettlement activities.
  • Work closely with the Senior Community Relations Officer and Project teams to ensure accurate and timely information sharing.
  • Support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of field data collection exercises and community consultations.
  • Ensure all RAP documentation is properly filed, maintained, and readily accessible for audits and project reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive community and project information.
  • Assist in tracking compensation payments, relocation schedules, livelihood restoration activities, and stakeholder commitments.
  • Participate in community meetings and stakeholder engagement activities by recording attendance, issues raised and agreed action points.
  • Perform other RAP-related data management and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Library and Information Studies or equivalent
  • Good understanding of local customs and practice
  • Good understanding of the expectations of the community in the area.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy

Experience needed

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, database management, and report writing.
