Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) seeks to recruit a qualified, skilled, motivated, and energetic individual to fill the position of Director Banking and Mortgages under the Banking and Mortgages Directorate to be based at Head Office in Lusaka.
Job Title: Director Banking and Mortgages
Job Purpose
The Director Banking and Mortgages will be accountable for the overall leadership, management and strategic direction of the whole retail branch network in an effective and efficient manner in order to achieve business growth, profitability and sustainability as well as provision of quality, affordable and sustainable Mortgage finance. .

Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure growth of depositors' funds by developing and implementing appropriate growth strategies by the Society.
• To ensure that the business portfolio grows in an efficient and optimal manner so as to enhance profitability
• To translate the Society's market and sales strategy into a customer focused business plan and it's implementation
• To ensure the delivery and maintenance of customer service excellence by cultivating and driving an ongoing sales and customer focused culture.
• To ensure that Banking and Mortgage Directorate has up to date systems, procedures and processes to ensure that lending and administration is undertaken in a transparent, efficient, predictable manner
• To ensure through monitoring that all branches operate profitably on a month to month basis so as to achieve or exceed the agreed performance targets for each branch thereby sustaining the Society's financial viability.
• To monitor and optimise the financial performance of branches
• To analyse the performance of the Branches at the end of each financial year and grade Branches accordingly.
• To ensure through monitoring and coordination that the fee structure on all loan portfolios are competitive and cost reflective in order to contribute to Society's profitability and financial viability
• To oversee the Society's marketing function and ensure effective and efficient marketing strategies, programs and activities are implemented in order to grow the Society's business and remain competitive
• To develop the directorate's Annual Work Plan and Budget against set objectives/policies providing guidance and ensuring that submissions are realistic and attainable and thereafter presents the budget for consolidation into the ZNBS budget.
• To monitor the directorate activities and budget and take corrective action as necessary
• To ensure that all branches maintain a high standard of operation and control of assets.
• To conduct regular checks on all processes as for risk management in order to avoid losses.
• Implementation of the Know Your Customer Policy (KYC) to ensure regulatory compliance
• To manage effectively the directorate's human resources for effective job performance in order to contribute to the attainment of the objectives of the Society
• To agree, monitor and review performance of subordinates to ensure that they meet their performance objectives
• To prepare quarterly directorate reports for the Board and Board Committees


Qualifications and Experience
• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accountancy, or equivalent business qualification.
• Master's degree in Business Administration or relevant business field will be an added advantage.
• Precise understanding of the Banking Sector and the Financial Services Industry
• Knowledge of retail business, sales/marketing expertise and experience, good understanding of banking products, services and people management
• At least seven years in a senior management role with a bias to banking
