JOB DETAILS:
Director General
The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) seeks to employ a highly motivated, suitably qualified Zambian Candidate with strong leadership qualities and hands on management skills for the position of Director General
The ZDA plays a vital role in fostering economic growth and development in Zambia through promoting investment, export, trade and enterprise through an efficient, effective and coordinated private sector led economic development strategy. The Agency was established in 2006 under Act No 11 of 2006.
Job Purpose
The Director General is responsible for the successful leadership and management of ZDA in accordance with the mandate specific in the ZDA Act and the strategic direction set by the Board .

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead, and constantly monitor, the Agency's Strategy Development and Execution process,
• Oversee all Agency operations to ensure adherence to good Corporate Governance practices, compliance with legal requirements.
• Lead the high-level Investment Research, Promotion, Export & Facilitation activities.
• Oversee Agency initiatives to increase investments in targeted sectors and exports to identified markets.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with potential and existing Investors and Stakeholders whether locally, regionally and internationally,
• Keep abreast of developments in local and foreign markets to guide the development of new sector services and meet growth targets.
• Advocate for changes to relevant legislation, policies and/or procedures on critical matters affecting the Agency Lead the Senior Management Executive Team to ensure effective performance and build a fully engaged team of support staff, Academic

Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate Degree in a business-related discipline such as: Economics, Marketing, and Finance. International Business.
• At least ten (10) years' experience in a senior management position with a minimum of five (5) of these in leadership roles.
• Demonstrated track record in Leadership, Strategic Planning & Project Management,
• Strong Financial Management background with analytical skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
• Excellent Communication, Presentation and Negotiating skills.
• Strong understanding of the dynamics of both Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Domestic
• Investment Tenure Three - Year Contract which is renewable

Job Education Requirements: Graduate Degree in a business-related discipline

Job Experience Requirements: At least ten (10) years'
