Little Sun Zambia Limited is on a mission to achieve universal access to clean energy. With a strong foundation in the PAYG business for solar home systems, we are expanding our transformative initiatives and venturing into the productive use of renewable energy with the establishment of Community Energy Hubs for productive use.
Job Purpose
The Driver will be responsible for safely operating company vehicles to facilitate the daily transportation of employees and delivery of goods or documents in line with company schedules and requirements. This includes travel within the country. The role requires a high level of responsibility, effective communication, and adherence to road safety standards. The ideal candidate must have sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance and demonstrate defensive driving practices. A background in motor vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Operating company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner;
- Ensuring timely movement of employees and materials as per the company schedule;
- Managing trip schedules efficiently to support operational effectiveness;
- Conducting routine checks on assigned vehicles to ensure roadworthiness;
- Monitoring and reporting any vehicle faults or service needs promptly;
- Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the vehicle;
- Recording and maintaining vehicle logs and fuel usage records;
- Adhering to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies;
- Assisting in basic vehicle mechanics and emergency repairs when necessary;
- Supporting logistical operations during field activities and events;
- Maintaining a neat, clean, and presentable appearance in accordance with the company’s dress code.
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Valid Class B Driver’s License with vehicle restrictions.
- Valid Class A1 and A License (added advantage).
- Experience in inter-town and long-distance driving, a must.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in a professional setting.
- Basic knowledge or certification in motor vehicle mechanics (added advantage).
- Must be open to traveling out of town as required for work-related assignments, including site visits, installations, maintenance, stakeholder engagements, and other operational needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, responsibility, and reliability.
