The Rural Electrification Authority (REA) is a statutory body established under REA Act No. 5 of 2023. Its mandate is to increase access to electricity in rural areas of Zambia, thereby enhancing productivity, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for the rural population. REA is expanding and seeking talented individuals for the following roles:

Job Description

To undertake the economic analysis of rural electrification programmes in order to ascertain their economic viability.

Qualifications Required

Bachelors Degree in Economics or its equivalent, Full Form V/Grade 12 Certificate, Validation Certificate from Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)

• Undertakes effectively the conduct of project market assessments in order to determine demand, willingness and ability to pay for electricity.
• Undertakes effectively the development of economic analysis models in order to facilitate prioritisation of rural electrification projects.
• Undertakes effectively the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
• Undertakes effectively the preparation and updating of the economic risks in order to ensure effective management of risk.
