Position Overview

We are inviting applications from motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering or Construction Management graduates for a 2 year contract. The selected candidate will gain hands-on exposure to project estimation, contract administration, procurement, and on-site coordination. This contract offers practical training under the supervision of experienced engineers and quantity surveyors, providing an excellent platform to launch a professional career in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Project Estimation and Budgeting

  • Assist in preparing project cost estimates, material schedules, and budgets.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and project cost analysis.
  • Support the tracking and control of project budgets to ensure cost efficiency.

Tendering, Procurement & Sales

  • Assist in preparing tender documents, bills of quantities, and contract forms.
  • Attend pre-bid site meetings and assessments.
  • Help evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
  • Support the procurement process in line with company procedures and standards.
  • Provide technical support to the sales & marketing efforts of the company

Contract and Site Administration

  • Assist with contract management and documentation.
  • Support in processing sub-contractor claims and variations.
  • Participate in site visits to monitor progress, verify quantities, and collect project data.

Technical and Project Support

  • Work with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to achieve project targets.
  • Prepare progress reports and technical documentation.
  • Support the preparation of project close-out and handover documentation.

Reporting and Record-Keeping

  • Contribute to the preparation of financial and project progress reports.
  • Maintain organized project records and documentation for ongoing and completed works.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Basic understanding of construction project workflows, contracts, and site operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and google workspace; familiarity with AutoCAD, CostX, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Must be an EIZ registered member
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • **Previous experience in working for a construction company is an added advantage. **
