Reports to: The Environmental Specialist will report to the Assistant Director – Environmental Health and the Project Coordinator and will closely work with the Director of Public Health, Director of Policy and Planning and other PIU members of the project, the World Bank TTL and Task Team as well as work collaboratively with the other sector ministries, NGOs, ZEMA, academia, Research institutions, Training Institution and other stakeholders.
Job Purpose
The Environmental Specialist will manage overall environmental risks for the Project in accordance with the requirements of the Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework and the relevant statutes of the Republic of Zambia.
Qualifications
- A full Grade Twelve (12)/Form 5 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O level credits or better including English Language and Mathematics
- A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or Public Health from an accredited university,
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Master of Science in Environmental Health or Environmental Engineering or any other relevant master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety will be an added advantage.
- Must have a valid Practicing Certificate
- Must be a registered member of relevant regulatory body
