Expansion Manager

Role Profile

Title: Expansion Manager

Reports to: Head of BBOXX Business / Head of B2B

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (initially)

Role Purpose: To create long-term, trusting relationships with our new markets (B2B) customers. A B2B customer will mainly be an operator in a specific market/country using BBOXX operating model with BBOXX products and/or services. The Expansion Manager will oversee the development of a portfolio of assigned B2B customers, and actively develop new business from existing B2B clients. A successful Expansion Manager collaborates with our commercial teams to achieve commercial targets, while keeping our B2B clients satisfied and engaged with our products, services, and operating model in the long-run.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the point-of-contact for all B2B customer matters
  • Coach B2B customer Managing Directors/General Managers on how to effectively set-up and run a new market operation
  • Where appropriate, serve in a non-executive support capacity on B2B customers’ boards
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting B2B client relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements (new BBOXX consulting engagements etc) to maximize profits
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with B2B customer key stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of BBOXX solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to BBOXX and customer stakeholders
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet commercial targets
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts etc)
  • Prepare reports on B2B account status (e.g. pre-launch progression status etc)
  • Employ strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Assist in the recruitment of key staff in a new market
    Requirements
  • Proven track record of success as an Expansion Manager or equivalent
  • Experience working in Africa
  • Aptitude to very quickly and completely grasp BBOXX’s operating model and solution offerings
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-levels
  • Solid experience with MS Excel a must, and with CRM software a plus (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to B2B customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining a sharp attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • BA/BS/MA/MS degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or other relevant field
  • Able to use English as the main business language is a must. Fluency in both English and French will be an advantage
