About the Farm

We are establishing a diversified agricultural project on a 50-hectare farm in Mpika District. The farm will focus on commercial tomato production, village chicken rearing, and pine tree plantation. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day farm operations and ensure efficient production and management of farm resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily farm operations including crop production, poultry management, and plantation activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate farm workers and casual laborers.
  • Plan and implement tomato production cycles including land preparation, planting, irrigation, spraying, and harvesting.
  • Manage village chicken production including feeding, health management, housing, and sales.
  • Oversee establishment and maintenance of pine tree plantations.
  • Monitor farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, feed, and equipment.
  • Maintain farm records including production reports, expenses, and inventory.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the farm owner.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of farm machinery and tools.
  • Implement farm security and asset protection measures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing crop and/or poultry production.
  • Practical knowledge of vegetable production (especially tomatoes) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in managing farm workers and supervising agricultural activities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate farm records and reports.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to live and work on the farm in Mpika District.

  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer or smartphone reporting skills (WhatsApp/email)
