JOB DETAILS:

Purpose

Conduct pre-trip, on-road, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and roadworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily morning vehicle checks (tyres, lights, brakes, fluids, couplings).
• Inspect trucks returning to yard – document damages and maintenance needs.
• Conduct random roadside inspections of driver compliance (license, logbook, PPE).
• Maintain digital vehicle inspection reports (DVIR) with photos.
• Flag vehicles for immediate service or grounding.

Qualifications:

• Certificate / Diploma in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years fleet inspection experience.
• Valid driver’s license (at least class C).

Competencies:

• Mechanical judgment, integrity (no collusion), physical agility.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: associate degree
