We are looking for a highly experienced Fleet Management & Monitoring Systems Expert to join our team on a short-term consultancy basis for a period of two (2) months. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving complex fleet management system installation challenges, optimizing system performance, and building internal technical capacity through hands-on training and mentorship.

Responsibilities or duties

Diagnose and resolve fleet management and monitor system installation and configuration issues.

Optimize telematics and tracking systems for full operational efficiency.

Conduct structured technical training and mentorship for internal staff.

Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and final handover reports.

Support integration and troubleshooting of GPS tracking, telematics, and monitoring systems.

Ensure successful deployment and operational continuity across multiple sites.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

A master’s degree will be an added advantage.

Professional certifications in telematics, GPS tracking, fleet management systems, or IoT platforms such as Geotab, Wialon, Teltonika, Cartrack, Samsara, or equivalent.

Certifications in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) or ITIL will be an added advantage.

Experience needed

Minimum of seven (7) years’ hands-on experience in fleet management systems, telematics, vehicle tracking, and monitoring system deployments.

Proven experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of fleet management hardware and software.

Strong expertise in CAN-bus integration, fuel monitoring systems, driver behavior monitoring modules, and real-time tracking platforms.

Experience with API integrations, databases, dashboards, and reporting tools.

Demonstrated ability to train and mentor technical teams.

Experience working within Sub-Saharan Africa will be an added advantage.
