THE ORGANIZATION

The Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company (LISWMC) was established following the enactment of the Solid Waste Regulation and Management Act No. 20 of 2018 as an autonomous Solid Waste Management Utility in order to provide effective solid waste management services in the city of Lusaka.

In its quest to provide solid waste management services to Lusaka City. LISWMC is looking for suitably qualified, creative and self-driven individuals to join the Company on the under listed positions to be based in Lusaka on contract basis.

JOB TITLE: FOREMAN WASTE COLLECTION (1 Position)

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake and supervise the cleaning of streets and effective and efficient collection of waste up-to the final disposal site.

Reports to: Waste Collection Officer

Main Duties and Accountabilities (Without Limitation)

• Undertakes timely the collection of solid waste in service zones in order to facilitate transportation and disposal of waste.
• Undertakes effectively the supervision of general workers cleaning the street in order to have clean and healthy environments.
• Undertakes timely the reporting of incidents and accidents during waste collection and street cleansing.
• Ensures proper safety measures are adhered to at all times by all personnel working on collection of solid waste.

REQUIREMENTS

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
• Diploma in Environmental Heath Technology or equivalent.
• Member of the relevant professional Institute.
• At least 1 year relevant work experience.
