Job Description And Person Specifications
1. Major Roles And Responsibilities Of The Position
1.1 Fundraising:
· Work closely with the CEO in the management of the annual budget and together ensure all financial targets and predictions are met each year through a range of fundraising methods.
· Develop and implement a comprehensive fund-raising strategy.
· Actively seek and identify potential international and national grant opportunities, presenting potential applications to the CEO for review.
· Develop grant applications to their final draft stage for approval by the CEO.
· Prepare narrative donor reports for approval by the CEO.
· Foster and manage relationships with current and prospective international and national donors.
· Liaise with local tour operators and businesses and encourage their financial support and promotion of Chipembele
· Organise and coordinate annual fundraisers and other significant events.
· Oversee current income generating activities and implement new ones
· Support capacity building and training initiatives for management colleagues, focusing on grant writing skills, social media, and donor relations.
1.2 Communications:
· Develop and implement an appropriate Public Relations policy for all staff to follow
· Develop a social media strategy and annual calendar
· Keep donors informed of project developments and other updates.
· Manage and enhance CWET’s existing social media platforms and online presence.
· Develop the organisation’s general promotional materials including leaflets, flyers, posters and signage to ensure it is actively promoted in a positive and engaging way
· Create marketing materials to promote specific projects, events, and activities.
· Collaborate with press, photographers, film crews and other media personnel at local, national and international level to produce engaging and appropriate content for Chipembele.
· Manage the Chipembele website and ensure it is kept up to date, accurate and engaging.
· Produce and distribute the quarterly e-newsletter, Kalata

2. Qualifications
2.1 Required qualifications and skills:
· At least three years of experience in fundraising, including proposal writing and financial grant management.
· Experience in working with government agencies, communities, community-based organisations, partner NGOs, and for-profit entities.
· A proven track record in fundraising, nurturing donor relationships, and managing donor expectations.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
· Fluent in English (spoken and written).
· Proficient in impactful report writing and grant proposal development.
· Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation & learning frameworks, and compliance requirements for various donors.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to reside and work in a remote environment.

2.1 Desired qualifications and skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Conservation, Social Sciences, or related fields.
· Five years of experience in fundraising, including proposal writing and financial grant management, with a focus on institutional funders like the European Union, US and UK Governments, ideally within the African Conservation sector.
· Project management skills, with a proven track record in project design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
· Proficiency in financial management and reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.
· Strong interpersonal skills, capacity building experience, and adaptability in multicultural environments.
· Ability to work under pressure and independently.
· Excellent verbal communication and networking abilities.
· Experience in social media management, marketing, audience engagement, and growing awareness on diverse platforms.
· Proficiency in information technology.
· Photography and videography experience.

3. Conditions
· If the successful applicant is not a Zambian citizen or resident s/he will be required to satisfactorily fulfil the legal requirements of the Ministry of Immigration for entry into Zambia and would be subject to approval of a Zambian employment permit.
· A police clearance certificate for working with children and/or vulnerable clients is required from the CEO’s country of origin, dated within 6 months of the application.
· A current valid and full driver’s licence is essential. Experience of 4-wheel off-road driving would be an advantage.
· There will be an initial 3-month probationary period.
· Full medical insurance with medical evacuation cover for emergencies is essential and must be obtained at the FCM’s own expense.
· A flexible approach to working hours is required; some out of hours work and travel out of the area are inevitable from time to time.
